Sonny Schneidau has joined our producing team for UP FROM THE STREETS®. He started his career as one of the founders of Tipitinas, working at the iconic New Orleans’ club where artists and bands such as Dr. John, James Booker, Professor Longhair, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Neville Brothers, EEK A Mouse, The Wild Tchoupitoulas and The Ramones all performed. In 1993, he joined House of Blues as Talent Buyer/New Orleans, where he brought in bands such as Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Snoop Dogg and the Foo Fighters played along with scores of local artists during his tenure. He stepped down in 2015 to explore other options – among them his own blues band, The Fortifiers.
