MAKE IT FUNKY! honors the people who wrote, played, and lived New Orleans music. Slaves and free people of color wrote music that “remembered” their past, defied racial and social barriers, and influenced popular music around the world. Performances and extensive personal interviews interweave, giving the music a voice, a face and a place.
